A bright orange, miniature citrus fruit with edible, tangy skin. Oval shaped, kumquats are no bigger than an inch or two in length, with smooth skins and tiny edible seeds, embedded in pale orange meat that has a sweet, tart flavor. Kumquats also called Chinese oranges.
