A golden yellow, round fruit with yellow or white meat surrounding a brown pit. The fuzz, or tiny hairs, on the skin sometimes is removed from peaches before they're sold. The fruit is sweet, juicy and tastes like a blend of rich melon, mild apricot and nectarine. It makes excellent tarts and sorbets.
