Some basic things you need to know about gelatin, are:
• Gelatin can be purchased in two forms, powder and sheets.
• Gelatin powder is sold loose in confectionary raw material outlets.
• Thin gelatin sheets weighing 2, 2.5 and 5 grams are more common and can be found packaged in most supermarkets.
• Gelatin sheets are easier to use because they dissolve easily, they do not form lumps and they are easier for calculating the required quantity.
• You can use scissors to cut gelatin sheets.
• The general rule is that for 1 liter of water you use between 2 and 5 grams of gelatin, depending on the application and how thick you want the mixture to be.
