A sweet, sticky substance produced by bees from floral nectar and stored as food. The honey is deposited in the waxy network of cells known as a honeycomb. The flavor of honey depends on the flowers from which it is made and to some degree, on location and climate. Most honey is made from clover, which gives the honey a very mild flavor. Other types of honey come from acacia, thyme, orange, rosemary, sage, and other floral sources. The color of honey may vary from pale yellow to amber. Greek honey is highly prized and rates among the best in the world.
